BBC 1 MINUTE WORLD NEWS

Let your students listen to the ONE MINUTE WORLD NEWS on BBC - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_audio/ You may not want to let them see the film first, but to concentrate on listening. How much can they understand? The headings? Play the newsreel again and see if they can understand some more (obviously this depends on the students' level of English). Finally, when you think they have understood enough, you can show them the whole film.

• http://www.winkball.com/ Lots of different people giving their opinion on various topics. Totally authentic. Teacher would need to create their own exercises to use with the film clips, though.
• http://lessonstream.org/browse-lessons/ 72 Lesson plans (so far) with various focus points ranging from speaking and reading exercises to watching films and looking at grammar, vocabulary and English usage. Brilliant!! Very nice and clear survey of the topics on first page (see picture below).
